According to Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President of Electronic Arts’ Worldwide Studios, the publisher’s decision to buy Industrial Toys was due to the positive results that the Bungie co-founder’s development studio always turned out when EA worked with it. As she put it, “Creating breakthrough games takes passionate developers and incredible creativity, and each time we’ve worked with the Industrial Toys team, we’ve been inspired by their unique approach. We’re thrilled to have them join our studio organization, pursue new ideas together and bring amazing new games to our players.”

For those unaware, Industrial Toys was founded by Seropian in 2012, and it announced its very first game – that is, Midnight Star – later that same year. The studio then went on to put out a sequel to the aforementioned science fiction mobile shooting game in March 2016 for iOS devices, with the second entry being dubbed Midnight Star: Renegade. It looks as if Industrial Toys could be turning away from the Midnight Star series, though, as the 14-person team is reportedly focused on “bringing new game concepts to life” at EA’s Worldwide Studios organization.

Taking all of this into account, it will be interesting to see what Industrial Toys manages to cook up for Electronic Arts now that the studio has now officially been acquired by the video game publishing titan. Hopefully, though, the Bungie co-founder and former CEO won’t see Industrial Toys wind up as yet another one of EA’s closed studios.
