Not too long ago, a Redditor and Destiny 2 fan with the online handle “Who_is_Rem” noticed that the term “Raid Lair” which had previously been on the Black Armory DLC’s content calendar had been renamed to “Raid”. This brought about speculation on the game’s official subreddit as to whether or not the forthcoming activity would actually be a full-sized raid. Responding to the matter, Bungie’s Community Manager, Chris “Cozmo23” Shannon, stated that the new raid will be “larger than the lairs, but smaller than Last Wish.”
Further on down in the Reddit thread, other users chimed in to say that the entries in Destiny 2’s Collections and Triumphs still make references to it being a “Raid Lair” and not specifically a “Raid”. What’s more is that since Cozmo23 didn’t explicitly state that the Black Armory DLC’s endgame activity will actually be a full-sized raid, the question still lingers as to exactly what terminology should be attached to the content to describe it.
Taking all of this into account, it will be interesting to see if Bungie eventually chooses to step forward and openly declare the Black Armory DLC’s raid as being “full-sized”, or any iteration thereof to placate fans. However, considering the fact that Cozmo prefaced his aforementioned statement on the matter with, “Raids come in many sizes”, there’s a good chance that players won’t find out the precise scale and scope until the raid itself is released. At any rate, whether it’s a “Raid” or a “Raid Lair”, most, if not all Guardians will have their eyes fixed on the race for World First.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
