This past year, Bungie aimed to spice up the Festival of the Lost event, which to that point, had started to become fairly routine for many. While the 2021 event still contained familiar elements like collecting candy and buying masks, players could now collect pages from a new item called Book of the Forgotten, while also delving into a new activity called Haunted Lost Sectors. Alongside new cosmetic items, Bungie also let the player base pick the unique armor for this year, with fans voting for Dinosaur inspired gear.

With how successful that Destiny 2 community vote went, Bungie brought it back in advance of the 2022 Festival of the Lost event. Over the past month, Bungie has been collecting votes from players between the returning Team Monster armor sets and a new Mech set inspired by franchises like Gundam and Voltron. The voting was fierce and after a bit of time, Bungie has finally revealed the ultimate winner.

Surprisingly, the vote was incredibly close with Team Mech coming out on top with 52% of the vote to Teams Monsters 48%. With the fan vote so close, there are some Destiny 2 players hoping that Bungie will end up releasing both sets, especially since this is the second year in a row that Team Monsters has lost. Regardless, a user on the Destiny 2 subReddit has made a plea to Bungie in the hopes that the Hunter Mech set can be updated to be more symmetrical with the gauntlets being quite different on each arm, almost as if one side is completely missing entirely.

In addition to the big Festival of the Lost armor set winner, Bungie also took a moment to outline its plans for the rapidly approaching Season 17. In order to keep dungeons and raids feeling fresh, the studio is introducing weekly rotations for older content alongside pinnacle rewards and challenges. Next week, Bungie is going to do a deep dive into planned sandbox changes specifically with weapon balancing and potential buffs and nerfs as well.

Destiny 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
